Established in 1890, one of West Africa's oldest green spaces at 400 metres above sea level. Guided walk through ancient mahogany, silk cotton, and African tulip trees, curated flower beds, rolling lawns, a lily pond, and canopy walks. The garden also features cocoa trees — a natural preview of the farm visit. Entry fee included.
Where Ghana's cocoa story began in 1879. Guided tour walks through the full cocoa lifecycle from seed to pod, with tastings of raw cocoa pulp, raw beans, and dried beans at each stage. The farm shop sells artisan Ghanaian chocolate and handmade black African soap made from the farm's own cocoa. Entry fee included.
A beautiful twin-cascade waterfall in the Akuapem Hills. Reached via approximately 250 steps — moderate fitness required. Cold, clear natural pool at the base. Local site guide accompanies the group. Entry fee included.
Luxurious closing lunch at one of Ghana's finest hilltop retreats — panoramic valley views, lush gardens, and a working cocoa plantation. Ghanaian and continental cuisine. Peacocks and resident zoo animals roam the grounds. The cocoa theme of the day comes full circle: the resort sits on its own cocoa plantation. Lunch included. Vegetarian options available.
Return drive down the Akuapem Hills to Accra. Guests dropped at hotels in the early evening. Dinner not included — guide provides recommendations. Allow extra time on Fridays for Accra traffic.
Breakfast and dinner are not included on this tour. Please bring your own towel and a change of dry clothes for the Asenema Waterfall swim — you'll be glad you did! The waterfall involves approximately 250 steps down and back up, so a moderate level of fitness is helpful. If you have serious knee, hip, or mobility concerns, please let us know before booking. One delicious heads-up: the cocoa tasting at Tetteh Quarshie Farm includes raw pulp, raw beans, and dried beans — it tastes nothing like chocolate, and that's part of the magic. This tour runs 7 days a week.
