Accra's most famous and authentic market — a sprawling labyrinth of stalls selling everything imaginable. The guide is essential here for navigation, crowd management, and ensuring fair local pricing. Ideal for foodstuffs, shea butter, black soap, fabrics, and authentic everyday Ghanaian goods. Bring GHS cash.
Ghana's premier craft and souvenir market — hundreds of vendors selling handmade artworks, wooden carvings, leather goods, beaded jewellery, Kente strips, Adinkra cloth, batik, and musical instruments from all 16 regions. The guide navigates deeper into the market where quality is higher and prices are significantly better. Open Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays.
Accra's most vibrant commercial street — independent boutiques, clothing stores, phone accessories, and supermarkets. A more relaxed, modern environment than the open-air markets, good for branded goods, fashion, accessories, and convenience items. The guide identifies the best shops for each category and advises on fair pricing.
Accra's most popular modern shopping mall — clean, air-conditioned, with local and international brands, a large supermarket, electronics, clothing, and a food court. Ideal for packaged Ghanaian foods, international goods, or branded items to take home. Fixed prices throughout; the guide advises on the best stores for each need.
A guide-curated selection of trusted African print and fabric shops stocking genuine Kente, Ankara wax prints, batik, and regional textiles sourced from across Ghana. The guide negotiates fabric prices by the yard and can arrange introductions to trusted local tailors for custom-made garments — the most authentic Ghanaian fabric to take home, at local prices.
